A WALK THROUGH
HISTORY
In
the sources the name Trebnikke appears for the first time in 1308
and in 1362 as a mansion below the Horse manor.
Its a well known fact that in 1395, Nea von Freudenberg from Zree
brought the mansion into marriage with Henrich Auer as a dowry.
Since 1412 onward, Ahac Trebniki and his ancestors have been named
after the mansion. It is unclear from the newest civil register if
the original Trebnik mansion was situated on the same place as the
later one.
Its
owners itself are mentioned on numerous occasions during the 16th
and 17th century. In 1621 the baron Erasem of Trebnik sold the
mansion to Hans Christopher Tattenbach, who merged the Trebnik
property with horse stables and who, at the same time, reconstructed
the new mansion, which was later known as the Castle of
Windischgrtz, having the same owners the Horse manor as the Trebnik
mansion.
The Tattenbach, after the period between the years 1670 and 1685,
during which the mansion belonged to the Cesar, were followed in
1692 by Cartesians from ika, between the years 1783 and 1828 the
mansion was in the hands of a religious foundation and in 1828 it
became the property of the dukes of Windischgrtz, which merely
possessed it until the end of the Second World war. They
occasionally lived in it, but they came less often during the war
since one part of the building was occupied by Germans, who have
been using the premises for a prison. During the war some of the
furniture was taken to Austria, some was taken by the locals, who
then destroyed it or used it for heating (with few exceptions, there
are hardly any original pieces of furniture left in the mansion).
Back then, horse, cow, pig, chicken stables, garden, thresher and
even a drying-shed were all part of the property.
 UNTIL TODAY
The
castle today is represented by two buildings and a small
construction whose core, the central part, is - according to the
oldest still preserved materials - from the first half of the 17th
century. The castle and the surrounding property in the suburban
area of the town, known as the Windischgrtz Castle- and today as
the Trebnik Mansion, was bought from the Slovenske Konjice
Municipality in 1996 by Jelen D.o.o. Company in order TO FOUND in
the premises of the Trebnik Mansion and on 15 hectare area, A
PROGRAM WHICH WILL CONNECT DIFFERENT CONTENTS, FROM TOURIST OFFER,
EDUCATIONAL CENTRE, SALEPOINTS TO CONNECTING LOCAL BIOPRODUCERS OF
HERBS, WHEAT AND VEGETABLE.

TODAY the Trebnik
mansion represents
Ecological, educational and tourist centre of the Dravinjska valley.
Its
activities do not represent only the basic tourist infrastructure,
but the entire living and learning life environment, which
emphasizes natural and cultural identity. It is composed of multiple
subprojects (herbal and thematic gardens, ecological learning
polygon, dynamic centre of education, formation and employment,
production and sale of natural cosmetics, herbs, textile, ornaments,
tourist programmes, new development programmes) and is based on the
concept that all these programs are executed at the same time; their
development can be seen on the next pages.
We hope that they will transmit some of the spirit, energy and
enthusiasm that is felt by everybody, who lives and creates in this
environment and tries to design, for you, what we call meaningful
moments.
