Title:
DYNAMIC AND PROFFESSIONAL EDUCATIONAL CENTRES FOR EFFECTIVE CULTURAL
MANAGEMENT
Acronym: EDUCATIONAL CENTRE
BACKGROUND
Cultural heritage is an important factor of social communication and
recognizable mark of national, regional and local citizenship. The
cultural heritage (mostly non -movable) of Slovenia is very rich and
beautiful but unfortunately abandoned and usually a »geto« of socially
threatened families. Within our organisation we have proved with the
ongoing revitalisation and adaptation of Castle Trebnik that cultural
heritage should be available to anyone who are creatively ambitious to
realize, activate and popularise cultural heritage potentials.
The basic condition for successful realization of above mention statements
are professionally skilled and practically oriented human resources who
won't be able just to notice the potential of individual cultural projects
but will be skilled enough to take over the management of it's
implementation and generate economical outputs. On the other hand the
major worldwide changes that have taken place since the second half of the
1980 in the economic, technological and cultural environment have entailed
new requirements in the cultural professions and in the training of
cultural development specialists. There is an increasing emphasis on
ensuring that the initial professional and technical education of future
cultural sector professionals include appropriate management educational
elements. The term »cultural management« is appearing in slovenian
cultural sphere quiet often but according to recent situation we establish
it is lacking, insufficient, even underdeveloped and mostly in hands of
national institutions which play the role of guidance and therefore (not)willingly
create passive development role. Within this project we would like to
upgrade the national level on regional level - to provide operational and
implementational support in practical and teoretical learning and training
in cultural management which will enable concrete and individual cultural
projects faster, more efficient and permanent implementation of settled
goals.
PROJECT OBJECTIVE
is to establish a network of DYNAMICAL EDUCATIONAL CENTERS FOR CULTURAL
MANAGEMENT where students/participants won’t be only passive recipients,
but participants together with their professors in the creation of new
professions. Such center will be developed in Slovenia on Castle Trebnik
within 1 year and with co-organisers support in the frame of transfering
the know - how within international workshops (one in Spain and one in
Poland). Within developed EDUCATIONAL CENTER for cultural managment we
would like to educate and re - educate cultural staff in more economic -
oriented cultural management.
WHO IS THE PROJECT FOR?
Within the project we would like to influence and » touch« following
target groups:
a) JUNIOR MANAGEMENT CULTURAL STAFF - there is increasing trend of
delegating management responsibility to more junior staff which need to
have access to relevant management education and training.
b) CULTURAL PERSONNEL - they have roots only in art and cultural
universities where practical training was neglected and they mostly build
they professional work gathered from the field through research or case
study research.
c) WIDER PUBLIC - through marketing activities wider public will be
informed about the project and invited in cooperation. We expected
interested individuals who don’t have professional cultural background but
have the ambition and potential to work in cultural projects.
